Mercy Care Rome hopes to grow in 2022
For the past 40 years the former Riverside Elementary School has been home to Mercy Care Rome. In 1929, there was a gym and playing field in the back of the building. To this day the space that used to make children happy, sits empty.
But, it is time this sad space creates joy again!
A meditation garden has been the dream of our Adult Day Health clients for years. With the help of our board members, we are ready to make this dream a reality.
It will be an outdoor space where clients and families can socialize, listening to music, and experience therapeutic activities like yoga classes, exercise sessions, and of course, meditation.
The Adult Day Health program is critically important for its ability to slow disease progression in people experiencing dementia. It allows seniors to stay close to home and “age in place” while still receiving quality medical care by highly trained professionals.
Help us give these vulnerable people an opportunity to be outdoors in a safe and tranquil environment. We are making strides to bring this dream to life, but we cannot do it without you. As a nonprofit organization, Mercy Care’s programs rely on your generosity to make projects like this one come to life.
