Mercy Care Chamblee is now open!

Mercy Care, a network of 13 fixed and mobile primary care clinics, opened its new 45,000-square-foot facility at 5134 Peachtree Road in Chamblee to the community on April 18. The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid and all other major insurance plans and offers sliding fee discounts based on income for self-pay patients.

Mercy Care Chamblee features 32 rooms for integrated primary care and behavioral health for adults and children; eight dental operatories, and a health and wellness center with a chef’s teaching kitchen. Mercy Care collaborated with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to provide onsite pediatric primary care.

“Our services are tailored to resident needs identified through an extensive Community Health Needs Assessment process,” said Mercy Care President Tom Andrews. “Access to affordable healthcare services was identified as priority number one. Our medical, dental and educational offerings are up and running now, and we are working to operationalize vision services which begin July 1 and plan to offer evening hours soon.”

Mercy Care is dedicated to tackling health priorities defined by the needs assessment in DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties—primary areas the new clinic serves. In addition to the need for affordable, integrated primary and behavioral health, chronic disease prevention and management and community health education were in the top 5 priorities identified. But the organization’s goal is to work with others to effectively address the underlying causes of disease like obesity and smoking.

“We will make our facility available to community partners to help address health concerns and other community needs that lead to a healthy life,” Andrews said.
